A Great Start for the Model United Nations Team

A Great Start for the Model United Nations Team
Sabrina Steyer, Secondary Division Dean

In March, Avenues São Paulo made its Model United Nations (MUN) debut with outstanding representation at Brazil Model United Nations (BRAMUN) in Salvador, Bahia.

Last week, our team, along with St. Paul's, Colégio São Luís, Escola Suíça, Liceu Pasteur, Eugênio Montale, Colégio Humboldt, and Porto Seguro, participated in the third POSMUN at Colégio Visconde de Porto Seguro. Our students represented the Japanese delegation in different committees and the Republic of China in the Security Council. They were awarded the Best Delegation, received four honorable mentions. We cannot fail to mention the excellent quality of their opening speeches and position papers.

We are so proud of our Avenues Model UN students: Gabriela B., Gabriel H., Georgia C., Gabriel N., Guilherme C., Heloisa O., Martina A., and Rodrigo F. Congratulations!

Discovery to Destiny: The Museum of Tomorrow and Future Literacy at Avenues São Paulo
Andrew Williams, Director of Teaching and Learning

At Avenues our reason for existing is “to educate world-wise leaders uniquely equipped to understand and solve global-scale problems.” It follows, then, that our students must be future literate–that is, equipped with the capability to navigate an increasingly complex, interconnected, and uncertain world and, in so doing, inspired to forge adaptable global paths toward sustainable, regenerative futures.
