Xueting Wang joined Avenues in the fall of 2018 as an associate teacher in a Chinese section of Small World, our program for 2-year-olds. A native Mandarin Chinese speaker, Xueting most recently worked as a Mandarin head teacher at HudsonWay Immersion School in New York, where she created and taught lessons to students ages 2 to 4, in Mandarin, in language arts, math, social studies and science.
Her previous teaching experience includes working as a Chinese and ESL teacher at Shuang Wen Academy Network in New York, a Chinese teacher at Ming Yuan Chinese School and a Chinese teacher at Excel Learning Center, both in Brooklyn.
Xueting received a Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature and a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese language and literature from Capital Normal University in Beijing. She later went on to obtain a Master of Science in early childhood education and special education (birth to 2nd grade) from Touro College and a Master of Science in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) from Fordham University. She is currently working on her second Master of Science in early childhood education and special education (birth to 2nd grade) from Touro College. She is expected to graduate in 2019.
In her spare time, Xueting enjoys going to the gym, museums and trying different food in New York. She also likes to take part in all kinds of volunteer activities and is excited to be a part of Avenues!
