Vera (Xiaohui) Pan joined Avenues in the fall of 2018 as an associate teacher in a Chinese section of kindergarten in the Early Learning Center. Since 2009, she has served as a head teacher at the Early Childhood Center of the University Settlement Society of New York, where she planned and implemented daily activities to promote students' development in multiple content areas.
Previously, she was a head instructor at Gymboree Beijing Lido Center in Beijing, China, and a part-time English teacher at the affiliated Elementary School of Liaoning University in China, working with children between the ages of 5–12. She also has a range of fieldwork experience as a student teacher in schools throughout New York City.
Vera received a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the College of Foreign Studies at Liaoning University in China and later went on to obtain a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
In her spare time, Vera enjoys photography and exploring nature.
