This fall, Narcy Carranza returns to Avenues as an associate division head for the Upper Division overseeing the intensive language programs in grades 6–12. Previously, Narcy had been the Lower Division’s Spanish literacy specialist
Steve Carpenter first came to Avenues in fall 2013 as a STEM and physics teacher in the upper grades. In fall 2015, Steve became the STEAM cohort leader for grades nine and 10, as well as continuing to teach science. In fall 2016, he will become an associate head of the Upper Division.
Willow Yang returns to Avenues as head teacher in a Chinese section of 3rd grade.
This fall, Yingwen Chen returns to Avenues as head teacher in a Chinese section of 4th grade.
Alicia Correa Mañas returns to Avenues this year as an associate teacher in 1st grade.
Melissa Kubin returns to Avenues in fall of 2017 as associate head of the 1st grade.
Lindsey Segal comes to Avenues this fall as an intern in the Avenues Interim Mastery program (A.I.M.) in the Lower Division. A.I.M. is a one-year site-based teacher preparation program.
Allison (Ali) Snell returns to Avenues this fall as an associate division head in the Upper Division and also as a learning specialist with the SST.
Yibo Lu returns to Avenues this fall as a Chinese immersion coordinator. She is one of the founding Avenues faculty members and has witnessed the Chinese immersion program develop since she joined us in 2012.
Alexandra Gerba returns to Avenues this fall in a new position—head teacher in an English section of pre-K.
This fall, Monica Ramos returns to Avenues as a dean of students in grades 6 through 9.
This fall, Yaojia Qu returns to Avenues as an associate teacher in a Mandarin Chinese section of 1st grade.
This fall, Qianyun (Jenny) Guo returns to Avenues as a Chinese learning specialist for grades 3 to 5.
This fall, Ann Miller returns to Avenues as head teacher in an English speaking section of 1st grade.
In fall 2017, Jannine Robinson returns to Avenues as an associate teacher in the English section of nursery. In the immersion grades – nursery through grade 5 – children spend alternate days in a class conducted in English and in a class conducted in either Spanish or Mandarin Chinese.
