“Questioning is a 21st-century survival skill,” says Warren Berger, self-described “questionologist” and author of A More Beautiful Question: The Power of Inquiry to Spark Breakthrough Ideas. Berger discusses why, in a world of rapid change, the value of questions is rising more rapidly than the value of answers. He also offers suggestions for schools to encourage questioning in students. “Schools are going to have to design exercises, projects—and some are already doing it—anything where the question becomes the whole point,” explains Berger.
