The Early Learning Center spent the month of October preparing for our Harvest Celebration! Nursery, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students discussed the fall season changes, leaves and pumpkins. Each class was very involved in our Harvest Celebration, creating their own leaves to place in our fall tree.

Along with our fall tree, students also learned about pumpkins through various read-alouds and cooking activities that introduced them to the color, shape and growth of a pumpkin. Each class had an opportunity to create a class pumpkin. From nursery to kindergarten, classes used various recycled materials and ideas to create their own pumpkin.

On October 30 and 31, students participated in many fun activities during our Harvest Celebration. They played a matching game, ghost bowling and a witch-toss game. There was also an opportunity for arts and crafts, with students making their own superhero masks or Halloween bracelets. Finally, students had an opportunity to be part of two sensory tables, which included water beads and sensory straw filled with fall fun.
