Kinder Creates Colorful Masterpieces!
Kate Howard

On the fourth floor at our new building, 536 West 26th St., you can currently see an exciting array of over 100 paintings by some of our youngest artists in Kindergarten. These works display one of the foundation projects of Kindergarten art, in which students explore shapes, color mixing, lines, and line patterns--all in one project.

Students spent several weeks first drawing shapes, followed by several weeks learning how to use a paintbrush and apply color with paint. Students also learned how to mix secondary colors from primary colors. In the final weeks, students outlined elements of their works and added patterns using both black and white paint.

These paintings will be on the display for the next month so be sure to visit the next time you stop by 536.
