Award-winning author E. Lockhart visited students in grades 7, 8, and 9 this spring, sharing her work, stories, and background. Students left intrigued about her life, eager to read more of her books and inspired for their own creative processes.
The Avenues New York kindergartners have been working alongside Avenues São Paolo kindergartners throughout the year! They spent time getting to know each other through interviews, a greeting card project and now through the creation of a quilt.
In Spanish 5 class, upper grades students were introduced to the topic of language and literature.
Last week, 66 Avenues student-athletes in soccer, volleyball, futsal, and basketball teams participated in a truly international Friendship Festival. Playing against nine international schools from Brazil and Paraguay, our athletes had a fantastic time building their new teams through friendly competition.
This semester, all Secondary Division students at Avenues were exposed to a framework for problem-solving in their High-Intensity Practice (HIP) Thinking classes. In order to put theoretical knowledge into practice, all students from grades 6 through 7 worked on a mini-project for three weeks.
Design 4 Impact is a student-run design-thinking startup created at Avenues New York in 2015. This month, D4i went global as São Paulo students lead a full-day design challenge, with 40 local students and six professional organizations.

On Tuesday, June 5, the class of 2018 graduated from Avenues New York. They're moving on to great things, and we couldn't be happier for them.
Over spring break 2018, upper grades students explored cultural diversity, biodiversity and climate change in Chile.
Middle grades students traveled to Guilin, China to advance their Chinese language abilities and deepen their understanding of Chinese culture.
