Imagine creating a green, growing plant wall in your own school. Inspired by vertical gardens around the world, such as Lincoln Center‘s, Upper Division science teacher Steven Carpenter decided to offer a fifth-term elective in which students created a plant wall at Avenues. The Living Wall course, explains Steven, is “a marriage of science, art, design, programming and engineering that was just big and complex enough for a group of 10 to 15 students to tackle over the course of five weeks.”
