Crystal A. Bates joined Avenues in spring 2017 as a dean of students for grades 10 through 12. Crystal comes to Avenues from NYU, where she spent more than a decade in admissions and enrollment management roles.   More...

Elie Déu first joined Avenues in 2012 as head of grade six, as well as a history and Spanish teacher for the Middle School*. After spending the 2013–14 year as director of Middle and Upper School admissions for Avenues, Elie became the head of seventh grade in fall 2015, moving up from grade six while continuing to teach history and Spanish in the Middle School. That year, she also facilitated the WORLD cohort for seventh and eighth grade. In fall 2016, Elie will become a dean of students in the Upper Division, working with students in grades six through nine. As a dean, Elie will work closely with individual students throughout their years in those grades, supporting their success and serving as the first point of contact for parents.  More...

Elizabeth Michelis joins Avenues in fall 2016 as a dean of students in the Upper Division, working with students in grades six through nine. In our new organizational structure, students are paired with a dean upon entering the Upper Division who works closely with them until grade 10, when they are paired with a new dean to help guide them through the upper grades.  More...

Risa Sang-urai Harms will join Avenues in fall 2016 as a dean of students in grades 10 through 12 of the Upper Division. As a dean working with students in the upper grades, Risa will continue to provide individualized college application support in addition to working closely with students on all the other aspects of their academic careers.  More...

In fall 2016, Amy will continue to direct the college counseling program at Avenues and expand our profile with leading colleges and universities around the world. She will also take on the role of director of deans, leading a team of seven deans of students whose role in the school is to ensure the social, emotional and academic success of students in grades six through 12.   More...

Bernard Geoxavier joined Avenues in fall 2013 as a Chinese teacher for students in the middle grades. In fall 2016, he returns as a dean of students in the Upper Division, working with grades six through nine.
