Last summer, he taught algebra II in an intensive summer program at the Taipei American School in Taipei, Taiwan, where Li grew up and where his family still resides.

Li’s teaching experience is not limited to mathematics. He began his teaching career at Texas State University, where he taught first-year college writing courses while pursuing his MFA. Li moved to New York for its opera companies, and he still writes. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English, Li is particularly fond of classical Chinese novels. He looks forward to teaching comparative literature courses at Avenues, in addition to math.
